Is this us?

Thought For The Day - and days to come..... “There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution” - Aldous Huxley, 1961

Coming To America?

Not the song,  the message.  Why can't we have a guy like this in Congress? Thought For The Day: ‘Those who suppress freedom always do so in the name of law and order.” – John V. Linsdsay

April 15th in the rear view mirror

"... the imposition of a federal income tax is more than just taking from those who work and earn and giving to those who don’t. And it is more than just a spigot to fill the federal trough. At its base, it is a terrifying presumption. It presumes that we don’t really own our property. It accepts the Marxist notion that the state owns all the property and the state permits us to keep and use whatever it needs us to have so we won’t riot in the streets. And then it steals and uses whatever it can politically get away with. Do you believe this? There are only three ways to acquire wealth in a free society. The inheritance model occurs when someone gives you wealth. The economic model occurs when you trade a skill, a talent, an asset, knowledge, sweat, energy or creativity to a willing buyer. And the mafia model occurs when a guy with a gun says: “Give me your money or else.” Which model does the government use? Why do we put up with this?" Judge Andrew Napolitano - Hea

Calling all Journalists, News Anchors, Reporters and Pundits...

Please read: In America, all atrocities are not equal: Minutes after the Senate declined to support so-called gun control in the wake of the Newtown massacre, the president rushed ill-advisedly on air to give a whiny, petulant performance predicated on the proposition that one man’s mass infanticide should call into question the constitutional right to bear arms. Simultaneously, the media remain terrified that another man’s mass infanticide might lead you gullible rubes to question the constitutional right to abortion, so the ongoing Kermit Gosnell trial in Philadelphia has barely made the papers — even though it involves large numbers of fully delivered babies who were decapitated and had their feet chopped off and kept in pickling jars. Which would normally be enough to guarantee a perpetrator front-page coverage for weeks on end. In the most recent testimony, one of the “clinic”’s “nurses” testified that she saw a baby delivered into the toilet, where his little arms and feet flap

Jim Bovard strikes again!

It's people like author James Bovard, whose diligence for Freedom and Liberty is unassailable, who represent the last of a dying breed attempting "to set brush fires in the minds of men".

Government "Protection"???

The following article - and my response - originated  here. Do You Need Government Protection From Sarah Palin, Ron Paul And Rush Limbaugh?                          By George Rasley | 4/3/13 In his “farewell address” before Congress, libertarian Republican Ron Paul asked in so many words, “why is liberty so hard to sell?” Congressman Paul answered that question at length in his speech ( which you can read here ),but in summary, he said that in the early part of the 20th Century, “The majority of Americans and many government officials agreed that sacrificing some liberty was necessary to carry out what some claimed to be “progressive” ideas. Pure democracy became acceptable… They failed to recognize that what they were doing was exactly opposite of what the colonists were seeking when they broke away from the British.” One of the “progressive” ideas that seemed so right and “fair” was the notion that there were certain groups in American society that were “oppressed” a

Uh-oh! Termites!

In my never-ending affection for analogies, metaphors and parables, the one about Termites is most effective: You discover a termite in your basement. You ignore it. Time goes on and so do the termites. Eventually you discover the termites have ravaged the very foundation of your home. Extermination is impossible; structural collapse is imminent, And so it is with our "house", America. The termites in the Logic Free Zone have been festering for decades, even centuries. They have been feasting on the very foundation of our Republic: the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as well as the essential principles enunciated in the Declaration of Independence, namely the government's obligation to protect our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Extermination and eradication of the government termite is impossible. Short of total revolution, there is no pragmatic solution to rid ourselves of the corruption that has metastasized in government at all levels, from
